Worklane uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the platform running, remember your preferences, and — with your permission — collect aggregated analytics that help us improve the service. This policy explains exactly which cookies we set, why, and how you can manage or remove them.
1. What Cookies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. It typically contains a name, a value, an expiry date, and the domain it belongs to. Cookies allow a site to recognise your browser across requests — for example, so the platform knows you are still logged in as you navigate between pages.
In addition to cookies, we may use localStorage or sessionStorage for similar session-management purposes. These are governed by the same consent framework as cookies.
Cookies cannot execute code, carry viruses, or read unrelated files on your device. Their scope is limited to data explicitly written by the site that set them.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
We group cookies into three categories that correspond to the choices available in our consent banner:
Necessary
Required for the platform to function. They handle login sessions, shopping-cart / escrow state, security tokens, and your consent record itself. These cookies are set automatically and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use Worklane — which pages are popular, where users drop off, and how long sessions last. Data is aggregated and anonymised before analysis. Analytics cookies are off by default and only set after you opt in.
Marketing
Enable us (or our advertising partners) to show relevant content or measure campaign effectiveness. Marketing cookies are off by default and only set after you opt in. As of the date above, no marketing cookies are actively deployed; this category is reserved for future use.

The exact cookie names for the WordPress session and WooCommerce session include a site-specific hash suffix that varies per installation. The names above show the stable prefix.
4. Managing Your Preferences
When you visit Worklane for the first time, a cookie consent banner appears at the bottom of the page. Necessary cookies are pre-enabled; analytics and marketing categories are unchecked. You can:
- Accept all — enable all categories and dismiss the banner.
- Save preferences — enable only the categories you select.
- Reject non-essential — accept only necessary cookies.
To change your preferences after initial consent, click the “Cookie Settings” link in the site footer or in the consent banner itself. The banner re-opens, showing your current choices. Adjust the toggles and save — the new preferences take effect immediately and are stored in the cookieconsent_status cookie for one year.
You can also delete cookies directly in your browser. Clearing cookies resets your consent record, so the banner will reappear on your next visit. Most browsers provide cookie management under Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies. Consult your browser’s help documentation for the exact steps.
Note that disabling necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and may break escrow and payment flows.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by external parties whose services are embedded in or integrated with Worklane.
Payment widget
When you proceed to pay, the payment provider’s JavaScript widget (bundle.js) is loaded from the provider’s domain. That script may set session cookies on the provider’s domain to secure the card-entry frame. These cookies are strictly necessary for the payment to function and are governed by the PSP’s own privacy policy.
Analytics provider
If you consent to analytics cookies, data collected by Sourcebuster.js is processed to produce aggregated traffic reports. No individually identifiable data is shared with third parties for this purpose.
No social media tracking
Worklane does not currently embed social-media pixels (Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.). If this changes, this policy will be updated and consent re-requested.
